Hot Shots Clinic
A camp designed for the young and talented kids of Michigan Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Program. With Michigan’s top coaches coordinating together to create lesson plans to help these kids get to their potential.

Future Stars Testing
A chance for the young athletes to step into the the world of Elite Gymnastics.
The Future Stars Program is an athlete development and education program. The Future Stars Program consists of five age groups: 8-year-olds, 9-year-olds, 10-year-olds, 11-year-olds, and 12-year-olds, who perform selected skills and compulsory routines on the six men’s events plus trampoline, strength and flexibility evaluations. The 8 and 9-year-old divisions participate up to the Regional level while the 10, 11, and 12-year old divisions can qualify to the National level.
The Junior National Development Team is determined through the use of a “Future Stars” National Championships/Evaluation held in the fall of each year. The competition targets the 10, 11, and 12-year old age groups of athletes and involves athletes being judged/evaluated on the six events using a basic skills compulsory routine composed of approximately ten basic skills elements placed together in routine form. In addition, there are events that involve evaluation on trampoline, flexibility, strength and body positions. The evaluations are done by a coach/Junior National Coaching Staff member and a NGJA judge working together to produce a score based on technique and execution.
Gene Watson Camp
The 2022 Gene Watson clinic will consist of two events; Saturday will be coaches presentations from 2pm to 8:30pm. Dinner and social hour will be included. Sunday will be an athletes session from 8 am to 5 pm. Athlete/coaches lunch will be served. Sunday will include presentations for parents.

The Saturday Coaches Clinic will have presentations planned on mechanics, specific skills, class manage- ment, and much more. ALL R5 coaches are encouraged to attend. USAG education credit will be given to participants. Presentations are planned on Strength Training, Spotting, Introducing and the Mechanics of Flyaways, Trampoline, and long term planning for HB.

Athletes will work with our R5 Elite Staff on all Future Stars events. We will be going over the required skills and what is expected at testing. This is a great opportunity for ALL athletes to learn about the Future Stars program. You do NOT need to be a competitive FS athlete to participate. Personal coaches are encouraged to attend.
